Viva

The famous OM model and the likewise well known Martin model 000 are often confused even if in reality they are the same thing. The first is the evolution of the second.
Until 1929 all Martin guitars were produced with the neck inserted on the 12th fret, like in the classical guitars (C.F. Martin himself began his activity building classical guitars).
Since 1930 the structure of the model 000 was changed, inserting the neck on the 14th fret in order to facilitate the using of the fretboard in the higher positions. The body shape was modified so that the instrument resulted more balanced either in a musical way or in terms of strength. Beginning from this moment the model was called OM, Orchestra Model.

My Viva model is the most eclectic acoustic guitar of my production.
Inspired by Martin OM, it has the same shape, because I wanted to preserve the reduced dimension. The size of this guitar suits also the needs of those who prefer smaller instruments. When you first hold it you can feel how comfortable it is. The fretboard scale length is easy to play and comfortable when you first embrace the guitar.
The scale length is 25,4”, a standard size for this model, such as the dimension of the neck that can be changed, according to the customer’s needs.
I also use for this model italian spruce for the soundboard, instead of sitka spruce usually used for these guitars.
It seems that the sound comes from a bigger guitar but with a smaller sounding board! The tone is warm and rich of harmonics, but every note mantain its own definition. The sustain is quite long so that you can hear a deep sound without hurting the whole frequency spectrum.
If I had to describe the sound of my Viva model in a few words I would say: perfetc blend, versatility.
A well balanced guitar that can suit every musical genere or style.
My model Viva is excellent either when playing an aggressive strumming or when playing a sweet melody using the fingerstyle technique.
